The area of the Cuneo province around Costigliole Saluzzo is great to explore by bicycle, following routes that make up part of the Giro d’Italia race and off-road trails. Historical and cultural attractions are abundant in the region, starting with the castles: Castello del Roccolo di Busca is a great example of a romantic neo-gothic castle and stands in a large centuries-old park with statues, caves, waterfalls, ponds and fountains, while Castello della Manta, in the town of the same name, is home to a unique cycle of frescoes of gothic painting. Castello di Racconigi, once a residence of the Savoia-Carignano family, has a beautiful park teeming with herons, storks and other birds, while Barolo offers a medieval castle, as well as its famous wine production and historic village centre. More generally, Cuneo is truly brimming with sites of cultural, artistic and naturalistic interest, with the lands of the Marchesato, the hills of Langhe, the Roero and the Monregalese until you reach the lands of the Savoia, which border the territory of Turin.
