AlpHotel Taller Wellness & Sport ****
Elena and Mario Taller are the owners of this characteristic gem that stands out from the distinctive nature of the Sole Valley. It has been open since the 1970s and it is dedicated to the care and relaxation of its guests, offering proposals that are perfect in both the summer and winter, from spa treatments to mountaineering thanks to Mario Taller’s experience who, as well as being a mountain guide, is a national alpine ski instructor.
The atmosphere is particularly relaxing and enjoyable as a result of the attention paid to the decor, the beautiful garden and the cuisine at the restaurant. The furnishing in the rooms is also elegant and tasteful, as well as that in the communal areas, which include: the Brenta terrace, which is made of fir tree wood and which faces the Dolomites; the 'Stube La Cort', which is made of aged fir tree wood and which overlooks the courtyard and the garden; and the 'Saletta del Bosco', which is an old wooden hut. Furthermore, the hotel's respect for nature is sincere and unconditional, so much so that the hotel has been awarded Ecolabel certification.
Relaxation and health are the two key words at the hotel’s health farm, which offers aesthetic treatments , including traditional and Oriental ones, and sports treatments such as massages and relaxation programmes. The health farm also has a Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, swimming pool built out of natural stones (pink and moss green quartz) and untreated fir tree wood, and this pool boasts hydromassages and a swimming machine. Furthermore, there is a calidarium, Kneipp circuit, bucket, revitalising and tropical showers, cold fog, a gym and a relaxation room.
The traditional massages range from peels to lymphodrainage massages and some of the more particular treatments include those that use glass bells, which provide tone and elasticity, a Nuvola wood hot tub with massage points and an Oriental booth.
The hotel has 25 rooms and 8 suites spread over 3 themed floors: the Club Prato Verde (Green Field Club), where wood and greenery dominate and recall the untouched nature that surrounds the hotel; the Club Sasso Rosso (Red Stone Club), which is inspired by the sun reflecting on the mountain rocks that enclose the valley; and the Club Cielo Alto (High Sky Club) in the attic which reflects the blue of the Trentino sky. Each room has a balcony, minibar, safe box, plasma television and WiFi internet, and some of the suites have twin bathrooms, a hot tub, indoor heater.
The hotel’s respect for nature is also mirrored in the choice to create new suites, which face the Dolomites, using bioarchitecture.
The hotel’s restaurant is called ‘Nonna Anna’ in memory of the head of the house in the 1970s who was the first person to lovingly and warmly welcome guests to the hotel and its tables and spoil them with tasty and natural dishes. Today there is a new chef and new kitchen staff though, but the attention paid to primary ingredients and the dedication with which meals are created is still the same.
The menu is inviting at all times of the day thanks to a rich breakfast, which includes savoury and sweet breakfast foods, and a buffet that is ready when guests return from the slopes. What is more, the view from the restaurant onto the Brenta Dolomites is spectacular.
Some of the hotel’s services and facilities:
This area is a true paradise for lovers of winter sports since they can find the Brenta Dolomites, the Adamello Brenta National Park, the Stelvio National Park and much more here. However the landscape is also stunning during the summer and visitors can go on excursions of varying degrees of difficulty to high altitude trails and mountain lakes and pastures.
The Stelvio National Park, the largest protected area in the Alps, offers, in particular, an immense landscape made up of green fields, streams of water, the rising peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale group and the characteristic flora and fauna of the Alps. What is more, the Sole Valley also boasts numerous picturesque points of interest for tourists.
Golf lovers are spoilt for choice too with three golf courses nearby Alp Hotel Taller; the Campiglio Golf Club, the Rendena Golf Club and the Dolomites Golf Club in the Non Valley, which is a particularly beautiful course since it is surrounded by the scenery of the Brenta Dolomites and the Maddalene.
