In the mid-19th century Bagni di Lucca became one of the most important health resorts in Europe thanks to the fame of its beneficial thermal waters. A fame that has remained to this day, while the Thermal Center has been renovated many times to maintain one of the highest standards in the sector. Part of the Thermal Center complex is the Antico Albergo Terme Bagni di Lucca that has a thermal pool measuring 60 m2, a gym, a large modular meeting room able to accommodate up to 80 guests for business meeting and conferences, and an area equipped for children. Located in the high part of Bagni di Lucca, in the ancient hamlet of Bagni Caldi, Antico Albergo Terme faces a forest landscape of chestnut and spruce trees, thicket and Beachwood, favoring the relaxation and well-being of its guests.
The Antico Albergo Terme has it own thermal pool measuring 60 m2 (children allowed with parents), available to its guests by reservation, and a Fitness Room with the latest machines, while all of the other wellness services are available at the Thermal Center, which the hotel belongs to. In the Center, the Jean Varraud establishment has the hottest spring, inside the so-called “Grotta Grande” while the smaller and more suggestive Grotta Paolina is made up of two grottos fed by a spring whose temperatures vary from summit to summit. Traditional thermal cures are offered in the Casa Boccella while in the Centro Ouida wellness treatments and programs are practiced, with thermal beauty treatments for the face and body as well as massages.
The 27 rooms at the Antico Albergo Terme are divided into Standard and Superior, both with a panoramic view. The rooms have air conditioning (available on request), a telephone, satellite TV, a minibar, and a safe. The Superior rooms, some with a balcony, also have individual air conditioning and Internet connection.
At the Thermal Center at Bagni di Lucca, which is part of the Antico Albergo Terme, the Ristorante Principessa Elisa offers cuisine inspired by the antique Tuscan tradition, using typical products from Garfagnana, with the possibility to request a light menu as well as a menus for specific dietary needs, including gluten-free dishes.
