The refined La Veranda restaurant overlooks the Ligurian Sea, and uses fresh seasonal ingredients for the Mediterranean cuisine and selection of international dishes. Particularly delectable, however, are the sweets and ice-creams, made fresh each day by the maestri pasticceri. During the warmer seasons, lunches and dinners are served in the garden by the pool, often accompanied by live music. There’s also a musical background during the evenings at the Lounge Bar, with cocktails and canapés, while tea is a must in the afternoon. The Pool Bar offers lights summer dishes, fresh fruit, and frozen cocktails.
Some of the hotel’s services and facilities:
Known as “the City of Palms”, Bordighera is located at the edge of the Maritime Alps, on the Ligurian Riviera, where the climate is mild and sunny all year round. The historic centre of Bordighera contains the late medieval city walls, the Roman road dotted with historic villas and liberty style hotels, the Lowe and Moreno gardens, the Argentina seafront (the longest promenade on the Riviera that stretches for 2 km), and the Pallanca Exotic Gardens. Just 15 km from the French boarder, it’s easy to pop over for a daytrip on the Côte d'Azur, to cities like Montecarlo, Nice, and Cannes. Nearby Sanremo is also worth a visit: known as the city of flowers, it is famous for the casino, the Italian Song Festival, and its architectural gems, like Villa Ormond with its splendid park, the Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the Orthodox Church. In the mountains above Sanremo, the town of Bussana Vecchia, after being destroyed by an earthquake, was reborn as a community of artists and artisans from all over the world.
