The well-being offer at the Grand Hotel Portorož is related to the Terme & Wellness LifeClass complex which is made up of: a Shakti-Ayurveda centre, where 12 certified therapists from India carry out treatments that are founded on the ancient ayurvedic tradition; a Thalasso Centre, where thalassotherapeutic treatments are carried out with salt from the nearby Sečovlje Salina Nature Park, which is extracted using a traditional method, that is still followed even today, and from which thermal mud and brine are also obtained, which both have healthy and therapeutic effects; the Wai Thai Centre, which is one of the biggest traditional Thai massage centres outside of Thailand and it is situated in an exclusive environment that was created by the master of decorative art Ivo Kisovec; the medical and physiotherapy centre; the Sauna Park, which expands over 1000m² and boasts 7 types of saunas, including a Thalasso sauna, steam bath with sea water, buckwheat steam bath and Finnish sauna, as well as a frozen grotto which is the first of its kind in Slovenia; the health farm, which offers a vast range of facilities for face and body treatments; a complex with two swimming pools one which expands over 700m² and is filled with thermomineral water and another which is filled with sea water; lastly, there is a gym where fitness disciplines are practised as well as yoga, Tai chi, kinesis, pilates and group exercise classes with a physiotherapist.

The à la carte restaurant ‘Mediteran’ at the Grand Hotel Portorož, which looks out over the sea, offers a wide range of Mediterranean dishes, but its specialities are flambé and fondues, as well as a variety of characteristic Istrian and Slovenian dishes which are made according to traditional recipes.
Café Central is next to the restaurant and it has a large choice of homemade fresh desserts and cakes on offer each day.

The Medieval town of Pirano can be reached in just a few minutes by walking along the coast of Portorož, and its piazzas and churches are splendid examples of Venetian-Gothic architecture. If you walk the opposite way along the coast you get to the Forma Viva open air gallery which boasts stone sculptures and a wonderful view of the Gulf of Portorož. Going over the hill, however, takes you to Fiesso which is a natural park with two lakes.
Portorož is also a good starting for visiting the Lipica Stud Farm, the Postojna and Škocjan caves and the Brijuni islands and Venice.
