Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta ****
The Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta reopened in May 2007 after 5 years of careful and skilled restoration. Housed inside a neoclassic mansion, it is surrounded by a large, centuries-old park and it is located at the foot of the hills of the medieval town of Bertinoro, which is also surrounded by a splendid, natural landscape. This property is particularly renowned for its spa: 7 types of water, each with unique characteristics, flow out of the 11 springs distributed along the course of Rio Salso and they are channelled into the Grand Hotel where there is also a Beauty Farm, gym and a fitness centre for ultimate well-being.
The hotel has 2 ample sun terraces, the corners of which are sheltered from the sun, a furnished terrace, various rooms dedicated to reading and relaxation, where it is also possible to listen to live music at night, a piano bar and a meeting room equipped with an audio-video system, which can hold 30 people. The hotel is open all year round.
Guests can enter the modern and equipped spa and health farm, which expand over 2000m², directly from the Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta. The thermal park extends over 13 hectares and 11 springs are scattered within this area, and it is also equipped with fitness trails, English style gardens with thermae fountains and corners with natural essences for aromatherapy. There are two thermal swimming pools with hydro-underwater beds, plantar reflexology, chromotherapy, music therapy, tropical aromatherapy showers and different types of hot tubs. Turkish baths, saunas, multi-sensory showers, a cardiovascular circuit with hydro massages, wine, hay and milk baths, rasul baths and a salt water grotto are also available. The thermal treatments are carried out using the 7 different types of thermal water, which offer 7 different compositions and 7 therapeutic characteristics. These thermal waters are also used a lot in the Beauty Farm, a large space which is completely dedicated to getting back into shape, as well as kinesiology, natural medicine, osteopathy and plantar reflexology. Some of the spa’s more exclusive offers include a ‘Natural Harmony Course’, which consists of a cardiovascular hydro-circuit, a sauna, ice waterfall, Turkish bath, Roman bath, Kneipp footbath, water paradise, multi-sensory showers, the use of two thermal swimming pools with hydromassages, chromotherapy and relaxation rooms and areas.
The Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta has 64 room which are divided into three types: Comfort, Superior and Junior Suites. All of the rooms are bright and they all have private bathrooms, internet access via a wireless network and colour satellite television.
All the flavours and aromas of the Romagnola enogastronomy are represented at their best by the restaurants cuisine, which is characterised by a healthy and balanced diet and dishes that are expertly matched on the basis of their organoleptic characteristics and calorie content, in accordance with the entire property’s vocation for wellness. Guests can also undergo a check-up at the hotel to verify the presence of any possible food intolerances and to create personalised food regimes.
Services offered by the hotel:
The centre of the Province of Forlì Cesena, where Bertinoro (a medieval town also known as the ‘balcony of Romagna’ because of its dominating position over the plain below) and the Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta are located, is called ‘the green heart of Romagna’ and it offers many natural tourism opportunities which are appreciated, above all, by cycling lovers, who can move freely from very flat areas to other more hilly zones. One of the newest adventures parks in Emilia Romagna, Indiana Park, is immersed in nature and this is the best park of its kind because of the size and number of routes, which involve routes through the trees at different heights and the use of various tools. Some of the artistic and cultural excursions to the surrounding areas of Bertinoro, which are definitely worth doing, include a visit to one of the most ancient Romagnola churches, the Romanesque Church of Polenta, the remains of an ancient convent of Capuchins in Montemaggio and the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Lago, located in the open countryside at the bottom of the hills of Bertinoro, inside of which you can admire a Byzantine Madonna.
