Hotel Marinedda Thalasso & SPA ****S
The hotel boasts a spectacular location and makes use of it in the best way possible by, not only offering its guests the use of the nearby beach of Marinedda, but also positioning its properties in the best locations.
The wonderful view here can be admired from the swimming pool, which is filled with sea water and just 250m from the sea, and the panoramic restaurant next to it, whilst the fresh water pool is next to the panoramic terrace where breakfast is served. Those who prefer more privacy, on the other hand, can choose to enjoy one of many coves along the coast rather than the pool or beach. The hotel also has a large spa with multifunctional pools, and it offers various other services such as organised excursions and vehicle rental, from cars to dinghies.
The pulsating heart of the thalasso centre and the Elicriso Spa is the sea water which is of excellent quality and purity thanks to the change of current of the Strait of Bonifacio. The salts, minerals and trace elements present in the water and the climate, precious mud and algae all help to make stays here a unique experience rich in relaxation and beauty treatments.
The spa expands over 2500m² and boasts a heated, semi-covered swimming pool filled with sea water with hydromassage points, three more multifunctional pools filled with sea water and heated to different temperatures for thalasso circuits, a gym, Turkish bath and sauna, relaxation area, boutique and beauty farm.
The treatments on offer that make use of the benefits of the sea water are thalassotherapy, mud therapy and algae therapy, whilst essential oils are used to personalise balneotherapy treatments. The well-being packages on offer are divided into Thalasso Special Discovery, Check In & Check Out, Relaxation Man, Well-being of the Back, Thalasso Travel and Relax, Slimming and Toning, Vitality and Harmony, Light Legs, Expecting Mother Elicriso, Zen Attitude, Sardinia Sea Beauty, Male Beauty and Brazilian Beauty Ritual packages. Some of the single treatments here include hydromassage baths, affusion showers, wraps, scrubs, face and body treatments.
This hotel has a total of 195 rooms, all of which are decorated in a Mediterranean style with chestnut beams and exposed local stones, large verandas, air conditioning, satellite television, a safe box, mini bar, dressing gowns and beach towels. The room types are divided into standard, superior, relax, suites, royal suites, president sea view suites and, reserved just for couples who are looking for a special, magical atmosphere, is the Executive Elicriso sea view suite which has a heated mini thalasso pool, which is filled with sea water, on the terrace and a Jacuzzi tub.
Breakfast and lunch are served as a buffet and are consumed on the panoramic terrace and poolside, whilst for dinner guests can choose from the hotel’s three restaurants: the Petra Ruja, which expands over two floors and looks out over the bay, serves up a buffet rich of Mediterranean and regional foods; the Punta Caneddi, which is a panoramic restaurant that boasts table service and candle lit tables (reservation required); and the Tramonto, which also boasts panoramic views, where you can enjoy a delicious tasting menu (at an extra cost and upon reservation).
Some of the hotel's services and facilities:
The main attractions in the surrounding area can be reached easily via boat trips, from the islands of the Maddalena archipelago to the Emerald coast and Corsica, the south of which boasts places of great charm such as Bonifacio and the island of Lavezzi. On the Emerald Coasts, the main point of interest is, of course, the wonderful and characteristic Porto Cervo and its small roads that are filled with flowers and famous squares where you can enjoy tasty aperitifs. A visit to Palau is also a must, where, during the summer, a typical little market is set up, as is the uninhabited island of Caprera which is home to Garbaldi’s house and tomb, whilst on the west coast of Sardinia you can find Alghero which gives you a great insight into the Catalan culture which has survived here both in terms architecture, as can be seen in the centre, and language. Lastly, the hinterland of the Gallura region is rich in splendid little towns nestled in beautiful mountainous landscapes, and here you can enjoy ancient traditions and a prestigious cuisine.
