Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda *****L
The first hotel in the prestigious Lefay Resort & Spa chain is located in the hills of the historic town of Gargnano, overlooking Lake Garda in the heart of the Riviera dei Limoni. The resort is immersed in 11 hectares of gardens, part of which has facilities for psycho-physical exercises, including a 2 km running circuit. The resort has a large heated outdoor swimming pool and an indoor pool, both with salt water. The indoor pool is part of the large spa that has an area with saunas and baths, an area for massage and beauty treatments, and a large gym. The resort has two restaurants, one that serves the best of traditional Mediterranean cuisine, and a trattoria that serves typical regional specialities. The resort also has two bars, one by the swimming pool, open during the summer, and another in the hotel, with a lounge containing a fireplace and a terrace with views of the lake below. Services include a free shuttle bus to take guests to and from the centre of Gargnano, a children’s play area, 3 meeting rooms, one of which can accommodate up to 80 people, a large garage, and free Wi-Fi access (except in the Spa).
The wellness offer of the Lefay Resort & Spa begins with the extensive outdoor areas, which contain a 2 km running circuit, an exercise circuit with 8 stations designed to improve muscular tone and flexibility, and the “energy garden” with 5 areas for energy-therapy exercises and meditation. The outdoor areas are known as the “Trilogia nell’aria”, while “Mondo Acqua e Fuoco” contains swimming pools, saunas, grottos, and lakes, and “Natura e Fitness” includes a large gymnasium and suites used for fitness activities and courses. There are three swimming pools: two with salt water (one indoor and one outdoor) and a 25-meter sports pool, all of which are heated. Outside there is also a heated Jacuzzi and a Salt Lake with water at 27°C. There are 5 saunas in the spa, each with different characteristics, a series of cold water treatments called “Il Ruscello” and an ice cascade. The Wellness Centre unites classic Chinese medicine with western scientific research, with a wide range of massages and treatments for the face and body, including thalassotherapy and treatments suitable for children.
The 90 suites of the Lefay Resort & Spa comprise different suite types: the Prestige Junior suites are located on the ground floor facing Lake Garda; the Deluxe Junior suites are on the first floor and each have a private balcony overlooking the lake; the Family suites have two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms; the Exclusive suites have a lounge, a large walk-in wardrobe, and a Jacuzzi with lake views; finally, the Royal Pool & Spa suite has up to 3 bedrooms and opens onto its private garden with a private swimming pool overlooking the lake. All suites have satellite TV with pay-per-view and a DVD/Blue Ray player on request, a walk-in wardrobe, a minibar, and both cabled and wireless internet access.
“La Grande Limonaia” is the Lefay Resort & Spa’s main restaurant and is open in the evenings on the top floor of the hotel, with spectacular views of the lake. It serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine, with an à la carte menu that changes to suit the fresh seasonal products available locally and uses the extra virgin olive oil produced by the Lefay company. There is also a low-calorie detoxifying menu available to complete the wellness offer. The Trattoria La Vigna is a more informal restaurant open at lunch and dinner, and serves more regional dishes and light cuisine, with a wide range of salads available, and has a log fire in the winter and a sun terrace open in the summer. A wide range of snacks are also available at the poolside bar, open in the summer months.
The hotel’s facilities and services include:
Gargnano is one of the most charming historic villages on the Riviera dei Limoni, nestled between Lake Garda, with its Mediterranean scenery, and the surrounding mountains, valleys, and nearby Lake Valvestino. Famous for its gardens of lemon trees, the village is also host to the “Centomiglia” regatta, the most famous freshwater boat race in Europe. It is easy to get around the lake by car or using public transport, to visit the towns on its shores, many of which are of great cultural and touristic interest. Aside from the lake, the paths and trails in the surrounding area are an exciting opportunity for trekking, Nordic walking and mountain biking, while the Golf Club Bagliaco is just 12 km from Gargnano.
