From Valderice, it is easy to reach the most important destinations in the province of Trapani: Marsala, Trapani itself, Erice, the Belice Valley and the large archaeological park of Selinunte. Near the town, certainly worth a visit are the tuna fishing harbour of Bonagia and, nearby, the grotto of Custonaci, the stacks of Scopello, the quarry of Cusa in Campobello di Mazara, the Gorgi Tordi Reserve in Mazara del Vallo and the Cretto di Burri, the famous artwork in Gibellina. Boat excursions include trips to the island of Favignana, the beaches of Levanzo and Marettimo, the island of Ferdiandea, a volcanic peak that is simultaneously claimed by Italy, France and England whenever it rises above sea level. The furthest, but perhaps the most beautiful, is the island of Pantelleria.
