La Suite Resort & SPA *****
It is the only hotel immersed in the green hills of Procida, with 5000 square meters of garden, which was once the vegetable garden of the 18th century building that belonged to the noblewoman Filomena Menichini, countess of the kingdom and popedom. The building was expertly renovated and converted into the Resort La Suite Hotel & Spa, which boasts a panoramic position on the island, just a few minutes from the famous beach where “Il Postino” with Massimo Troisi was filmed, and from the beach of Ciraccio. The hotel grounds are a lush green oasis with a large swimming pool, a restaurant and a spa with a hammam, sauna, hydro-massage pool, and rooms for massages and beauty treatments. All this on an island regarded as one of the most exclusive destinations in the Gulf of Naples.
In the property’s semi-basement, the spa of La Suite has 400 square meters that contain a sauna, a hammam, a hydro-massage bath, an emotional shower with chromo- and aromatherapy, an ice fountain, 3 cabins for massages and beauty treatments, and a relaxation area. The centre also has a fitness area with the latest equipment and a personal trainer on request.
La Suite has 15 bedrooms of various types, from the Classic Room to the Suite with a large panoramic terraces or a chromotherapy bath. The Pool Side rooms have private patios, as do the Garden Junior and some of the Garden View rooms.
Always open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and for brunch on Sundays), the Restaurant of La Suite is located in the hotel’s garden and offers typical Mediterranean dishes produced with local products and accompanied by a wide selection of wines and prestigious liqueurs. Drinks and snacks are also available at Le Café, on the ground floor of the hotel.
The hotel's services and facilities include:
Things to see in Procida include its historic and cultural centre, the town of Terra Murata, located on the highest point of the island and crowned by the Castel of Avalos, built in the mid-16th century and later becoming the Royal Palace, then a fortified prison, only closing in 1988. Visitors must take a stroll among the coloured houses of Marina Corricella, the fishing harbour around Marina Grande, the island’s main port, and Marina Chiaiolella, a smaller touristic harbour. In just a few minutes by boat you can reach the other islands in the Gulf of Naples, from Ischia, the largest and most popular with its natural springs, to Capri, the renowned retreat of writers, artists and international celebrity. And, naturally, there’s Naples with its host of historic and artistic marvels.
