Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo
An old farm estate immersed in the countryside of Le Marche near Urbino, the Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo offers an exclusive stay surrounded by nature, culture, wellness and gastronomy. The historic residential buildings of the estate are now elegantly furnished bedrooms and suites equipped with every comfort, and across the yard is a wellness centre with a swimming pool, sauna, and massage areas. The estate has a gourmet restaurant and pizzeria, and even an abbey from which the Tenuta takes its name. Those interested in horse-riding can also make use of the stables while the standard of the dining experience is guaranteed by the quality of the organic ingredients produced on the farm. The residence is suitable for events and weddings thanks to the large function rooms and meeting rooms. Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is also an ideal base for exploring some of the most beautiful towns and villages in Italy.
In what used to be the estate’s hay barn, the Spa of the Tenuta Santi Giacomo offers guests a wellness circuit that begins with a walk on the reflexology mats followed by a dip in the thermal hydro-massage pool and then in the recreational pool. The circuit continues with a sitting in the Turkish bath, passing through the Kneipp pools, a few minutes in the sauna, to finish with an emotion shower and a relaxing herbal tea. The massages on offer range from western techniques to ayurvedic and shiatsu massages alone or for couples. The wellness centre also offers a range of beauty treatments for the face and body, including anti-ageing and a Union ritual, all performed with natural products on sale in the Bottega della Tenuta.
The 22 bedrooms and 11 suites of the Urbino Resort of the Tenuta are distributed among 6 rural buildings, each with a different name and characteristics: in the Fiori rooms, in the two towers, the romantic style is predominant; the Aromatic rooms are furnished in a country-chic style; the Preziosi rooms, in an old villa, are characterised by large spaces and contemporary décor. The rooms Le Scuderie evoke a rustic feel with their eclectic selection of recycled furniture while the Frutti Dimenticati are the most spacious suites in the oldest building on the estate. Finally, La Limonaia, consisting of two suites overlooking the Badlands to the south that descend towards the river Foglia. All accommodation has modern comforts, including autonomous climate control, satellite TV, a minibar, and Wi-Fi internet connection.
The restaurant of the Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is called the Urbino dei Laghi, in homage to the three lakes that surround it as well as age old oak trees. Here, guests can enjoy some of the best dishes the Marche have to offer prepared with organic seasonal ingredients, many of which are produced on the farm itself. Homemade flower and selected ingredients are used to make the easily-digestible pizzas, and the farm’s homemade craft beers and wines are offered alongside a selection of the best regional and national wines. Many of the products produced by the farm are also available to buy at the Bottega della Tenuta, alongside local craft and wellness products.
