Abano Ritz Spa Wellfeeling Resort *****
The AbanoRitz is a five star hotel and its strong point is not the wanton luxury, but rather the tranquillity, relaxation and atmosphere it offers. It is run by the Poletto family who have been committed to the tradition of hotel welcoming and hospitality for generations, and this experience is the special touch which gives the AbanoRitz its unique character, as well as the finer details such as the attention paid to the furnishings, the quality of the cuisine, breakfast in the rooms, the cuisine and the beauty of the park surrounding the property. Entertainment is provided for the guests, including classical music concerts, poolside live music, a piano bar, themed evenings, gourmand dinners and free-of-charge room service, and small acts of kindness, like roses in the guests’ rooms on arrival, make stays here truly enjoyable. Furthermore, as well as the park, services, efficiency and elegance, the hotel provides a wellness area with two swimming pools, a sauna, a gym and numerous spa treatments.
The Euganean Spring water originates from the Prealps, flows underground for about one hundred kilometres and then resurfaces at a temperature of about 87°C, ready to be used for beneficial, healing, preventative and aesthetic means by the specialised facilities in the area. One of these is the Abano Ritz which has its own water well and spa , and some of the hotel’s facilities include two semi-Olympic sized, thermal swimming pools , one covered and one open-air, which face the private park and which are equipped with hydro massages , cervical waterfalls and hydro bikes. However, healthiness is not the only advantage the thermal water brings about and it is not the only reason why guests visit the spa since there are also numerous massages on offer (classic, rehabilitative, deep-tissue, lymph drainage, aesthetic, sports, anti-stress and relaxation massages and massages with stones, crystals and essential oils, in water or on a massage bed are all carried out here) and personalised wellness programmes which include a large range of techniques originating from ancient and modern disciplines such as shiatsu, ayurveda, holistic treatments, aerobics, meditation, dance, phytotherapy, acupuncture and osteopathy. Effective face and body treatments are available in the Beauty Club which boasts a rich supply of techniques and products. Children allowed in the pools with parents.
There are four design rooms , a total of sixteen suites, junior suites and privilege rooms , fifty-eight elegant and classic double rooms with living areas or verandas and forty-eight single rooms; all the different room types are united by the attention paid to colours, furnishings, details and harmony between guests and nature. What is more, geothermic sources are used for the heating which do not emit CO2. Ad hoc rooms are also available for non-smokers and disabled guests.
For breakfast guests can choose whether to go down to the breakfast room or be spoilt by the free room service. For lunch and dinner there is a choice between the elegant restaurant White Gloves, enriched with 19th Century plates adorning the walls, the vintage restaurant 'à la carte' Il Brutto Anatroccolo or, in the warmer months, the park with a barbeque area. Signora Emma is in charge of the kitchen and she offers courses about the rediscovery of the traditional cuisine, whilst paying tribute to both national dishes and great international classics. Hotel guests will be spoilt by a fine and wholesome cuisine ranging from homemade pasta, seasonal vegetables, light menus, lean meats, fish and desserts. Accompanying the dishes is a rich wine list which commends the best Italian bottles, as well as focusing the guests’ attention on wine from the Euganean area.
Some of the hotel’s services and facilities:
The Euganean Hills area and the destinations which are easily reached from here offer a whole range of possibilities which few places in Italy can boast; for instance, spa tourism, natural tourism, sporting tourism and cultural tourism. There are some splendid places which are located away from the congestion of the traditional tourist circuits and they can be reached without having to go too far away from Abano Terme: do not miss out on the Benedictine Abbey of Santa Maria Assunta, the most important monumental and religious entity in the area; the characteristic small town of Arquà Petrarca; the medieval town Monselice; and the parks of Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio, an extraordinary example of 17th Century Italian gardens which are still perfectly preserved. In addition, a stay in Abano Terme can be a comfortable base for visiting the most beautiful cities in the Veneto region, such as Padova, Venice, Verona and Vicenza.
