Leading Nature & Wellness Resort Kristiania ****S
Comfort, nature and elegance are the key concepts which the hotel’s structure and organisation revolve around; guests will find relaxation zones and expansive green areas here. Some rooms also offer a spectacular panoramic view and physical well-being is not only taken care of at the spa but also through the attention paid to food. Furthermore, the hotel is particularly mindful of satisfying every desire to indulge and escape by organising and suggesting winter and summer activities, from skiing and snowshoeing to rafting down the Noce river and horseback riding. However, what is probably one of the most interesting and distinctive features of the hotel is the attention and respect it pays to the environment: the Alpin Wellness Hotel Kristiania actually has a set of rules so as to comply to a rigorous environmental policy that ensures a reduction in water and energy consumption, waste separation and the use of alternative detergents which have a reduced impact on the environment.
The Acquaviva Spa centres its activities, treatments and services around the purifying and salubrious strength of the water. It is not surprising, therefore, that the majority of the offers concern bathing, swimming pools, saunas, hydromassage tubs and Kneipp therapy. Some examples of the saunas available include an alpine herbal sauna, peasant’s sauna, stone
The hotel has eight different types of accommodation: the Rugiada and Alba rooms, the Family Suite, the Junior Suite Sorgente, the Junior Suite Aurora, the Suite Alpina and the Regina and Regina Deluxe Suites. Every room has a balcony, some of which offer a panoramic view, and, depending on the suite chosen, plasma televisions, ceramic stoves and hydro-massage bathtubs are also available.
Breakfast and lunch are served as a buffet here and there is a tasty cakes and sweets corner in the afternoon, whilst a series of refined dishes are served in the restaurant in the evening. The dining proposals, which pay special attention to the local gastronomy, range from beef bouillon served with dumplings to grilled Trentino style Peio cheese served with Savarin of polenta, stewed mushrooms and potatoes with walnuts and from chestnut soup with local mushrooms and marjoram to home-made 'caserecci' pasta with duck and marzemino wine mince served with Trentingrana cheese. The wine cellar contains about 300 different types of wine (local, national and international) and an important selection of grappa, whisky and rum. Guided tasting tours are organised every week and local cheeses and meats are combined with the wine tasting.
Some of the hotel’s services and facilities:
The hotel is located in Cogolo di Peio, 1.170 metres above sea level in the Sole Valley, Trentino, in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, and no matter where you are in this valley, you are surrounded by protected and uncontaminated nature for miles and miles, as well as breathtaking landscapes. The scenery here changes radically from summer to winter: in the summer it is a triumph of greenery with immense stretches of conifer tree forests covering the mountains, and the towns stand out because of the bright colours of the local construction, whereas in winter, when the cold comes, everything becomes dazzlingly white; the rooftops of the houses, the forests and mountains. There is a large number of activities on offer ranging from rafting in the mountain torrents, ice skating and skiing to horse riding, climbing or participating in excursions.
